THE selection of flanker Hamish Watson for the tour makes him the third Oakham School back row player to be selected for the tourists following Tom Croft and Lewis Moody.

Ian Smith, who coaches the school first XV has coached all three players. He also nurtured Neil Back at , so it's not a bad quartet!

Andrew Rice, director of rugby at Oakham School in Rutland, said: “This is surely a unique achievement for any school and coach. Ian is delighted for Hamish.”

Oakham, founded in 1584, has its motto: Quasi cursores vitai lampada tradunt. “Like runners they pass on the torch of life.”
