MATT WILLIAMS, AND FORMER U20s CENTRE, CHOOSES THE BEST XV HE HAS PLAYED WITH OR AGAINST…

1. Manasa Saulo – One of the most mysterious blokes in professional rugby.

Could hold down any scrum and a really funny guy in the changing rooms at London Irish.

  2. Dave Porecki Was top try scorer for London Irish for a season and just loved a rolling maul try. Great leader on the pitch, not the greatest social goer.

3. Will Goodrick-Clarke Worked his way up from the with before moving to Irish. Doesn't get the headlines but does his work very well. Massive player for us, both physically and metaphorically.

4. Maro Itoje Now one of the world's best. He dominates lineouts and is a nuisance around the pitch.

Just an all-round great player.

5. Nick Isiekwe Most skilful second row I've seen. Towered above everyone at England age grade level with the ability to throw a pass behind his back whenever he liked.

6. Sean O'Brien legend now at Irish. An absolute enforcer who loves a scrap. He is a poacher over the ball and a great leader, on and off the pitch.

  7. Tom Curry – Played with him and twin brother Ben at England age grade level. Weird blokes that really love protein, but they are very athletic and work rate is second to none. I wouldn't want to run into either of them!

8. Ofisa Treviranus An absolute battering ram. So chilled at training but as soon as the whistle went, he turned it on. Always managed to get his side over the gain-line, you could turn to him if you needed to dig in. One of the nicest guys you will meet.

9. Nick Phipps – The classic niggly nine. Very vocal and has great banter around the club. Very hard to catch his high balls. Hugely experienced player with lots of caps for , so I always respect his opinion.

10. – Controls the game from the pocket but also takes the ball to the gain-line. The type of player who can produce a magic moment to win a match. Brilliant vision to get his side out of trouble or create something from anywhere on the pitch.

11. Joe Cokanasiga – Massive, powerful winger who has really big hands to help him become a great offloader. However, a very messy housemate!

12. Jonathan Danty –When we played he was a bowling ball with feet – explosive and powerful with a low centre of gravity. Tough to take down.

13. Elliot Daly – Smooth runner and extremely skilful to go with it. Hugely talented player who has proven it on the big stage.

14. Topsy Ojo – Club legend at London Irish who I learnt a lot from during the three or so years that I got to play with him. Great guy to have in any team.

15. Melani Nanai – Powerful, speedy runner with unreal footwork. Has that bit of flare that changes a game or can get a team on the front foot.
