MERCIFULLY the young still seem to be spared the worst effects of the Covid-19 pandemic physically but our young rugby players are really suffering from a lack of playing opportunity. It’s been a bleak picture for them.
For a long while now, although schools around Britain have been unable to play each other, we held out hope that the 2021 Rosslyn Park Sevens might yet survive in some format or other but this week came the news that the organisers have had to cancel, just as they did in 2020.
There is just a chance of staging a tournament of sorts this summer. That would be fun but realistic...
