Top League round-up: Lock star Kruis opens account as Wild Knights stretch lead at the top

ENGLAND lock George Kruis registered his first Japanese try as the Panasonic Wild Knights crushed Canon Eagles 47-0 to remain at the head of the Top League.
Kruis was one of six tryscorers, but it is the quality of Wild Knights’ defence that will please coach Robbie Deans the most, as the Eagles became the first team in this year’s league to be held scoreless.
This despite fielding the South African stars Jesse Kriel and SP Marais, and the Japanese World Cup fly-half Yu Tamura.
