In the wing's first start, she became the first player in the club's history to score a hat-trick as the hosts crossed for 12 tries.

One week on from Susie Appleby criticising the for putting a limit on the number of Non-EU players on the agenda, duo Kate Zackary and Rachel Johnson both scored two tries each, and Gabby Catorna and Canadian Taylor Black grabbed a try apiece.

From the off the Chiefs flew out of the traps, with Zackary crossing for her seventh of the season after just two minutes following a sweeping move along the backline.

A tough afternoon was written on the cards for Sharks once centre Beth Blacklock left play with an arm injury.

Johnson and Merryn Doidge scored tries either side of Burgess grabbing her first of the afternoon. Her hat-trick was secured by half-time, the third owed to the work of Ebony Jefferies to suck in defenders and get the offload away.

There was still time for Olivia DeMerchant to cross for a seventh.

Black, Doidge, Burgess, Cantorna, Johnson all contributed second-half tries, as Emily Turner gave something to show for Sharks' efforts.
