The gulf in class between the sides was reflected in the scoreline as the Drovers swept to their 15th win in 18 games to stay in the hunt for a home tie in the play-offs.

Poor Llanelli have just two wins in a season that cannot end fast enough with little likelihood of finishing anything other than bottom of the table.

Llandovery's form this season has been way above that of rivals Llanelli and Quins and they confirmed this by scoring eight tries in a free-flowing encounter. The night after had overtaken them in the table and pushed them back down to third, the Drovers eased their way back into second with four games to play before the play-offs are decided.

Dominant up front, swifter behind, it was just a matter of how many tries Llandovery would score and it was a good day for hooker Craig Thomas who grabbed a first-half hat-trick.

Centres Macs Page and Rhodri Jones, fly-half Ioan Hughes and wing Aaron Warren – his 100th for the club – made it 47-7 at the break. Llaneli's lone answer was a try from centre Tom Davies but they held their own in the second half.

A home penalty try was bettered by one from tireless flanker Nathan Hart and another by replacement Rhys Cherry but the game had long been decided before the break.
