Newport……………….33
Swansea……………..24
Walker Price made sure Newport got back to winning ways with a bonus-point victory.
The Dragons academy wing raced clear for his first Black & Ambers try in the final seconds of an entertaining clash at Newport Stadium.
Swansea had hit back with 14 men to set up a nail-biting climax.
Despite the loss of prop Cameron Jones to a yellow, wing Osian Knott flew over for his try to cut the hosts' lead to 28-24 with minutes remaining.
But Price, who has been on the verge of breaking into the Dragons regional set-up, showed a clean pair of heels to touch down and secure the win.
The try condemned Swansea to a fourthstraight defeat and meant they left Gwent empty-handed, despite scoring three tries of their own. That will be bitterly disappointing given they made a blistering start through another young wing. A flowing move featuring offloads and clever running ended with 19-year-old Cori Lewis-Jenkins scoring after just five minutes.
That was cancelled out by Elliot Frewen, who would be sin-binned in the second half, before Newport's pack took charge with tries for Henry Palmer and Nathan Evans either side of halftime, before Knott's two.
