Two tries in the final two minutes at least allowed Glasgow to leave with some credit, but they were miles away from the side that had humbled the previous weekend at home.

Instead they had to play second fiddle to an Ospreys team that dominated the collisions, were in charge at the scrum and ran in four tries to clinch a vital bonus-point to add to their first win of the season.

The only downside for home coach Toby Booth was a rib injury suffered by Gareth Anscombe early in the second half. Replacement hooker George Turner clattered into him at a ruck and forced him to leave the field as a result.

“Gareth was in a prone position and we will look at it. It was a dead ball and he couldn't see it coming, so we'll have a look at what it looks like,” said Booth.

“He's got a rib injury, but he's a tough boy. That was the most disappointing part of the game for us.

“Other than that, it was a massive step in the right direction for us because nothing gives you more confidence than winning.”

The real bonus for Booth was the sparkling form of two-try wing, and man of the match, Keelan Giles, who used his blistering speed to score in each half.

“We took a long time to put Keelan back together again and the medical staff deserve huge praise in how they treated him. For him to not only be producing 80 minute performances, but also to have such an impact, is good for him and us,” added Booth.

Giles could have had a hat-trick, but his first effort was ruled out by the TMO after a thrilling break by Max Nagy, followed by a neat kick ahead, saw Rhys Webb tangle with Rufus McLean for the bouncing ball.

The TMO adjudged Webb had knocked on and the try was ruled out. Not long after, Giles beat three men to dive in at the corner for the opening score in the 29th minute. Anscombe adding a super touchline conversion and then kicked a penalty after Glasgow had had a thrilling, 70-metre try ruled out for a knock on early in the move.

Tom Jordan got the Warriors on the board with the last kick of the first-half, making it 10-3, but Giles pounced again nine minutes into the second half when he chased a kick ahead from his 10 metre line by Webb and literally snatched the bouncing ball out of the grasp of the last defender to score at the posts.

and Reuben Morgan-Williams guaranteed the bonus point with two tries in six minutes to stretch the home lead to 32-3. Then came tries for Oli Kebble and Tom Gordon in the dying embers of the game for Glasgow to save some of their blushes.

“Our performance wasn't as bad as the scoreline suggested, but we were too inaccurate and there were too many execution errors,” said Glasgow head coach Franco Smith.

“We did well in the first quarter to keep them out, but we were forced to make too many tackles and didn't have enough consistency in the contact area.”
