Jubilant scenes among 's tartan army met the final whistle on Friday night, as Bryan Redpath's men got their third win in a row to complete the great escape.

Fly-half Nathan Chamberlain produced a classy man of the match display, kicking 10 points, not missing from the tee, and orchestrating Scottish's play perfectly with fullback Cameron Anderson and outside centre Lennox Anyanwu scoring tries.

Scottish loosehead Rhys Charalambous said: “It really is a great escape, this is a historical club, been in the for years, and this is a mashe club has done.” 50:22 led to a try for Bren- hill once again down to sive night in the club's history.

“I'm just so happy to help keep Scottish up. These last few games have felt like three cup finals, it's the great escape and it was a wet and wild changing room afterwards.”

After the match was delayed by 45 minutes due to Lady Bay's floodlights, Scottish started in determined fashion, winning a penalty in the first five minutes and kicking it to the corner before being held up over the line.

Another penalty in front of the Archers' sticks, and Chamberlain slotted it over for a 3-0 lead.

Nottingham worked their way into the game but Sam Hollingsworth's cheeky kick over the top to his wingers was intercepted by Cameron Anderson, who sprinted over half the pitch to score.

Nottingham tighthead Xavier Valentine capitalised on a well-executed lineout maul to dot down his first try for theclub, but Hollingsworth crucially missed the conversion.

Nottingham's penalty count continued to rack up, Chamberlain kicking another three points just before the half-hour mark. Nottingham inside centre Javiah Pohe pushed through a number of bodies from a lineout catchand-drive to make it a onepoint game at half-time.

Scottish came out of the break and got within a whisker of Nottingham's tryline. After stout try line defence kept them out for a while, Anyanwu found a gap, and after some chat between the ref and touch judge over whether it was held up, the try was given.

Nottingham wing Harry Graham created a chance on the left but openside Carl Kirwan mishandled the ball by the try line.

Full-back Jordan Olowofela's quick feet saw his shimmer past two defenders to score. And then it was hands-in-mouth stuff at either end. Nottingham wing David Williams nearly scored, and Exiles pair Hayden Hyde and Dan Nutton both had chances late on as Scottish held on.
