Matthews keeps Ipswich on track

Ipswich continued their flawless start to the season with a 45-19 victory in a bicentenary fixture over Rugby.

Zachary Matthews scored four tries for Ipswich, with further tries from Noah Woodhouse and George Howard. Nathaniel Kayada scored a fantastic individual try for Rugby with Rufus Pearce scoring a try-double.

In the Schools Cup, Woodhouse Grove eased past Lancaster RGS 41-11 and Barnard Castle drew 17-17 against the King's School Macclesfield, with King's progressing as the away side. Kirkham Grammar blew away QEGS Wakefield 35-5, and Stowe won a thriller 29-26 against Berkhamsted, while Radley won 35-19 at Bloxham, and Stamford won 36-15 against Haileybury. Harrow beat RGS Guilford 47-22 and Blundell's beat 25-10.

In the Plate, Cheadle Hulme secured a famous 25-24 victory at RGS , Oakham won 19-17 at Bedford, KCS Wimbledon beat New Hall 47-5, King's College Taunton edged Sherborne 19-17 and Abingdon triumphed over Canford 36-24.

In the Bowl, Princethorpe College beat KES Lichfield 14-7, Wymondham College edged Framlingham College 14-10, Brentwood saw off Southend High School 33-17, Brockenhurst thrashed Portsmouth Grammar 60-10 and City of London Freeman's beat Christ's Hospital 37-17.

IntheVase,Durhamwere comfortable winners over Harrogate Grammar 47-12, King's saw off King Edwards 23-7, Lord Wandsworth College comfortably eased past KES Southampton 52-12, the Oratory edged Reading Blue Coat 24-19, and St George's Weybridge beat Reeds 27-19.

In the ACE North Group City of Oxford College beat Brooksby Melton College 34-27, Stourport saw off Myerscough College 20-15 and Bishop Burton College thrashed Oaklands College 61-24.

Gordon's School remain top in the ACE South Group after a dramatic 43-43 draw with Truro and Penwith College. Hartpury College thrashed College 76-21, and SGS College beat The Bishop Wand Church of School 34-21.
