PLYMOUTH claimed a hard-fought victory to claim four points and take top spot.

Albion's half-backs Oulton and Jones were on top form as they pulled the strings and put their team in the right areas to keep the score ticking.

The turning point of the game was a bizarre period when referee Ben Rayner seemed to lose control of a seemingly never-ending scrum five metres from Chinnor's line.

Time and again he reset the scrum or penalised Chinnor, and eventually after a staggering 20 minutes Plymouth were awarded a penalty try and Chinnor had two placed in the sin-bin.

With Chinnor down to 13 players and 22-10 down, they launched a hugely brave and courageous comeback.

A chip-through by Worboys saw Carter scoot over, and then in injury-time Chinnor launched attacks and were only yards out when the ball was stripped and Albion kicked out for full-time.

Plymouth were impressive in the first half and from a big bust by Hill, Craig Duncan finished well, for Putt to convert.

Chinnor hit back when Ryan fed Bourton to crash over.

The visitors were again on top as a driving game and ball recycling took them to the line. A pick and drive by Broughton saw him score and after both sides swapping penalties it was 10-15 at half-time.
