THIS was a contest which emerged into a battle between two strong back-rows.

Among the stellar names competing in this clash was young Issy Wharton who stole the show with a devastating 60m break deep into the second half to clinch the contest.

Wharton was eventually dragged down 5 metres from the line, but quick hands saw Goss finish in scintillating fashion to give Chinnor an unassailable 22-10 lead in a most unflinching, competitive match.

DMP attacked from the off and a lovely break from Frankland released Yates to score a try, converted by Ree.

The visitors went further ahead with a Ree penalty, but Chinnor finally got a foothold on the game when Bourton showed great strength and footwork to elude several defenders and

squeeze in the corner. The second half started with both sides launching attacks from deep.

Chinnor drew level after 50 minutes when they eventually succeeded in driving Clementson over from close range.

With Hardwick making his presence felt, Chinnor finally took the lead after 60 minutes when good work from Smith released Feeney who jinked through several players to score, Price adding the extras.
