BOTH teams took advantage of the super playing conditions to demonstrate a terrific game of running rugby.
From the kick-off Ampthill played hightempo, heads-up rugby.
They camped in the Esher 22 for lengthy periods. Initially, strong defence kept them out, but this lasted for 24 minutes when an Ampthill turnover resulted in a penalty.
The ball went out for a lineout where a catch-anddrive resulted in a try by Sydney Blackmore, converted by James Pritchard.
