DUDLEY Kingswinford's winless start to 2024 continued as they lost out to a William Kucera-inspired Exeter side, who remain on course for a top-three finish.

The lightning University full-back was nigh on untouchable in the opening 25 minutes of this contest in the Midlands, cantering over for a hat-trick of tries to effectively consign Dudley to a 14th league defeat of the season. But even in a difficult campaign, there have been pockets of excellence in the Dudley ranks, and it's often been typified by Nick Selway.

He was at his burrowing, probing best and picked up two tries, either side of the interval, to give his side something to target in terms of bonus points.

But the youngsters were always ahead in thought and deed, Campbell Ridl breaking through for their fourth score of the after noon mere seconds after the resumption of play at the start of the second half.

There was a late trading of tries – Dudley's Leo Jowett and Exeter winger Ed Volley both finding their way across the white line – to give a small, but appreciative, crowd plenty to discuss in the bar post-game.
