Lymm……………………28
Fylde……………………. 50
FYLDE outscored Lymm seven tries to four in a frantic encounter at Crouchley Lane.
Greg Smith danced through the Lymm defence in only the second minute and converted his try for a 0-7 lead.
Back came Lymm with a Cal Morris try goaled by Tom Shard. A Smith penalty and his conversion of a neat dummy-and-go try by Ben Gould put Fylde 7-17 up, before Harry Martin exploited a chasm of a gap in the Fylde defence to bring Lymm back to 14-17.
The pace didn't relent in the opening exchanges of the second 40. A Nathan Beesley intercept try and a strong Matty Hand finish, both converted by Shard put Lymm 28-17 up and sniffing a league double.
Fylde then produced 30 minutes of pacy and accurate rugby to put 33 unanswered points on their hosts. Firstly, Scott Rawlings was last man up from a 20m lineout catch and drive. Ben Gould was held up by an offside Lymm player who was sin-binned and a penalty try awarded.
Sam Stott broke two tackles to score before, the try of the game, Ben Turner was on the end of a fine move involving Ben Gregory and he raced in from 50 metres out.
Three Smith conversions saw Fylde reach the 50-point mark.
