FYLDE bounced back in style with a resounding win over Otley, with Greg Smith continuing his fine form from the tee, converting all seven of his kicks.

The match was a tale of two halves with the second 40 being less entertaining and free-flowing than the first, which saw braces from Ben Gregory and Sam Carleton.

Fylde made a fast start, racing in down the right through Sam Carleton after three minutes. A further try in the 27th minute through a drive from Gregory led to Fylde leading 14-3 approaching the half-hour mark.

Otley got their first score of the match out wide through Sam Taylor, but Fylde bounced back through Gregory and Sam Carleton before the break, to secure the bonus point with Sam Carleton scoring the pick of the first-half tries with brilliant interplay on the left with Jordan Dorrington.

Joe Rowntree and Smith traded penalties after the break, before there was a 15-minute period of scrums leading to Taylor eventually going in for Otley in a corner. A game, which had lost its entertainment value in the second half came to life again when Dorrington caught a cross-field kick by Smith to fly over in a corner late on.
