HULL'S sparkling early-season form continued with a convincing bonus point win at Lockwood Park The East Yorkshire side chalked up their fifth win on the bounce, with two tries in each half enough to see off a hard-working Huddersfield.

After a highly competitive first quarter the visitors took control of the game following a yellow card for Field skipper Lewis Bradley. From the resulting penalty an efficient catch and drive enabled hooker Ali Thompson to claim the first try, converted by Steve Johnson.

Just before the break Hull further exploited the extra man when Mike Adlard found himself on the end of a crisp backline move. The wingman, with work still to do, powered his way over wide on the left.

After the restart the visitors continued to press. Total dominance in the set piece providing a strong platform. Johnson moved the score on to 15-0 with a close range penalty.

With most of the play in the home side's half, Hull finally broke down some stubborn resistance with their third try. An excellent break from prop Tipiloma Kivalu saw him surge to the line, a deft offload allowing Michael Joblin to ease in under the posts. Johnson adding the extras.

In an eventful stoppage time, the hosts snatched a consolation try following a searing run from winger Kian Stewart. Quick recycling allowed fly-half Tom Parkin to chip through for the waiting Arthur Wilkinson who made no mistake.

There was still time for the bonus score with the last play of the game, when Alex Cullen collected a loose ball on the Field 22 to scamper over.
