Henley………………….36
Canterbury…………..35
A BRACE of first-half tries for Guy Rawsthorn helped Henley overcome Canterbury in an end-to-end contest.
Henley opened the scoring in a minute after Rawsthorn crashed over following an Alex Hayton break.
A Frank Reynolds penalty narrowed the gap before Tom Emery, on his final home appearance, touched down.
Canterbury refused to yield and hit back when Will Hilton finished a flowing move, but the Hawks scored a sensational third with Rawsthorn finishing off a superb move that started with Ryan Crowley's kick-through.
The second half saw the visitors in the ascendancy and Harvey Furneaux's close-range try narrowed the gap.
A second Reynolds penalty gave Canterbury the lead before Crowley was the first to touch down his own kick.
The lead changed hands again following Will Waddington's powerful surge before the Hawks hit back two minutes later with a solo effort from George Wood.
Henley secured victory when Dave Manning burrowed over, but the visitors secured a deserved second bonus point on the stroke of full-time when Furneaux touched down for his second of the afternoon.
