GUERNSEY Raiders endured a torrid afternoon as Canterbury eased to victory.

The hosts did break the deadlock early on as both teams eventually came to terms with slippery ball in appalling conditions. Lewis Hillier powering over following a catch-anddrive move after continued penalties from the away team.

However, Canterbury soon struck back with No.10 Frank Reynolds scoring the first of his afternoon tally, appearing with the ball after a controlled Canterbury forwards drive. Reynolds converting.

The first-half stalemate continued between the teams, but eventually Reynolds slotted over a penalty to add three points, giving Canterbury a 10-5 first-half lead. Reynolds continued in the same mood with a further penalty at the beginning of the second half to make it 13-5.

And then Canterbury started to take complete control of the game with their forwards moving up the gears. Tries from Cameron McMillian, Murry Cameron and Reynolds' second – a fine individual run bringing a ray of sunshine to the game. Reynolds converting all three tries.

A Guernsey try by Ciaran McGann was the only consolation to a poor second-half performance by the home side. Canterbury's game plan execution, by far, the better of the two teams.
