ESHER secured their first victory at Molesey Road of the season, with a bonus-point win.

Esher's backs showed their quality throughout, but missed numerous opportunities.

A crucial tackle with only seconds left by Dan Rowland prevented Presley Farrance from scoring in a corner, denying Canterbury two bonus points.

Esher got off to a flying start, taking an early 17-0 lead with tries from Charlie Morgan, Pierre Thompson and Andy Hamilton.

Tyler Oliver got Canterbury on the board from a maul, before Botterill showcased his footwork to secure Esher's four try bonus point inside 30 minutes.

Pierce Holland powered over from close range to keep Canterbury in touch, trailing 22-14 at half-time.

Botterill scored again after the break, however, Canterbury with an enormous pack were dogged, and Tom Best managed to slip through the defense and score under the posts.

In their final attack of the game, Canterbury almost went the length of the field, yet, a strong tackle from Rowland forced Farrance into touch just yards from the try line.

Esher were deserving winners and appear strong contenders for promotion.
