REDRUTH secured a deserved bonus-point victory against Dings at Shaftesbury Park, thanks to a magnificent secondhalf performance that their hosts found too hot to handle.

Early indications suggested this was going to be a close encounter, but there was only one team in it after the break.

Dings unquestionably enjoyed dominance in the opening quarter. Crusaders had all the ball and territory but were unable to put points on the board as Redruth reeled under the pressure but somehow kept them out.

But it was the visitors who posted the first points, with Brad Janes going over, Fraser Honey converting before adding a penalty on 32 minutes to open a 10-0 lead.

Crusaders' Matt Smith coasted over to cut the gap to 10-5 at the break.

Honey added a penalty on 48 minutes, which was cancelled out by Luke Arscott to make it 13-8 on 57 minutes. But the dominance Dings enjoyed early in the game was mirrored by Reds' final quarter. The only difference being the visitors' clinical nature as they took every opportunity that came their way to win with something to spare in the end.

Connor Gilbert, Matt Shepherd, Jack Simmons and Jack Oulton all crossed the chalk to rubber stamp the emphatic victory, with Honey adding two further conversions to wrap up what ended up a commanding triumph.
