Eddie’s big day on film

'S win over in Brighton in 2015 is being made into a film written by former Rugby League player Max Mannix and it prompted this anecdote from the mastermind of the victory, :

“Max played for Bankstown, the toughest team, with a tough coach like Vince Lombardi, and he breaks through and looks as if he is about to score and the ball drops out of his hands.

“He never plays again. The coach killed him. So, he gave up rugby and went to Japan. He went to a library every day, if you lose your job you can't tell your wife because it's loss of face. So they go there in their suits, and in Japan there's a dummy phone call where you can ring yourself and pretend to be doing business, and he's watched them.

And then he wrote this movie called Tokyo Sonata and it won all these awards.”
