Painter looking forward to ‘exciting’ Exeter challenge

Exeter confirmed the signing of prop Ehren Painter from Northampton Saints, as revealed in last week's TRP.

The 24-year-old tighthead comes in as cover for former England prop Harry Williams who suffered a significant knee injury earlier this month.

Painter – who will join until at least the end of the season – is the second prop to move to the club this week after Georgia loosehead Nika Abuladze.

Painter, who has played for England U20s and featured 84 times for Saints, said: “I want to say a huge thank you to everyone at the Saints. I've loved my time at the club and enjoyed some very special memories over the years.

“This is a new opportunity for me and it's one I want to take with both hands. It's an exciting move.”
