Bristol's head coach Pat Lam was satisfied with his team’s performance.
“We got off to a poor start but worked it out,” he said. “We ground things out and our defence was phenomenal – 220 tackles, I think – and loads of intensity.
“We only had a couple of phases in attack but we made them count. We are pretty pleased with the result and outcome, the first time we have won here in a long while.
“We have been working on connected defence. We have big hitters but you need to be in the right position. It’s a big area we worked on in preseason. Having said that, I want us to win more ball.”
