England star Anthony Watson will leave struggling Bath when his contract finishes at the end of the 2021/22 season, according to the Telegraph.
Watson has been with the West Country outfit since 2013. However, he has decided not to take up the option of extending his stay with the club.
Watson has a clause in his contract which allows him to sign an automatic extension by the end of today (December 31), but that is unlikely to be exercised.
The 27-year-old will instead find a new team but his destination is unclear, particularly with the reduction in salary cap to £5million tightening the purse strings at many Premiership sides.
Despite recent injury problems, the back three player remains a core part of the England team and will have clubs lining up for his signature. His decision has alerted many clubs in France. However, a move abroad would all but end his international career.
He has been linked with Saracens and Wasps in the past. A return to former club London Irish could also be a possibility.
