PAT Lam was seen in a deep touchline conversation with Bath's highly-rated inside centre Max Ojomoh after Friday's West Country derby at Ashton Gate.
England hopeful Ojomoh, 21, is out of contract at the end of the season and is yet to agree to a new deal to remain at The Rec, where he has been since he was six.
Ojomoh, the son of Bath and England flanker Steve, enjoyed a stunning game against the Bears, scoring his second try in as many games and is seen as their most dangerous offensive player.
Meanwhile, Bath director of rugby Stuart Hooper is looking to strengthen his squad, which is sliding towards the foot of the Premiership table and is hoping to announce the signing of another scrum-half this week.
Hooper is trying to get two loan signings across the line with the arrival of another scrum-half urgent with England international Ben Spencer sidelined with a hamstring problem.
Hooper started searching for another hooker at The Rec during pre-season and it hasn't been proving to be an easy task.
■THE RFU have launched an inquiry into the racial abuse hurled at teenage Rams Rugby scrumhalf Ollie Monye at Plymouth Albion.
It turns out that RFU chief executive Bill Sweeney was at the game and Albion wrote on their website that Sweeney and guest “remained at the club for a fair few hours post-game before enjoying an evening on the Barbican.”
It will be interesting to see if RFU discipline chiefs seek him out as part of the investigation.
