The most critical element of any reorganisation of England’s professional club league structure is that we are not lumbered with a carbon copy of the discredited, broken cartel model that the Premiership adopted, and that some top tier clubs will cling onto.
The main plank of any league re-set has to be the dismantling of the Premiership cartel mechanisms that have prevented Championship clubs from progressing. Let’s ditch the P shares, and any other forms of ring-fencing skulduggery, with restrictive, dishonest ground criteria also at the top...
