Rainbow Cup loses its meaning without Bok monsters | Shane Williams

IT’S a real shame the PRO14 Rainbow Cup began this weekend with confirmation the four South African teams won’t be coming to Europe.
That was the very reason the competition was created so for it not to be happening is disappointing for everyone concerned.
In Europe we all talk about Super Rugby as this mythical competition where the quality of the game is much higher. This would have been a great chance to see how the Welsh regions and teams from Ireland and Scotland coped against the Springbok monsters.
Now we will have to wait until next season for that to happen.
