Room 101: Harrogate head coach Sam Cox

Harrogate head coach Sam Cox takes us through his pet hates from the rugby world and beyond

1. Wind

As a former goalkicker, I would prefer to play in snow rather than wind. It affects everything you do, and you can bet if you make allowances for the ball to be taken to the left or right, it will remain going straight on. I did two years in New Cornwall is terrible for traffic du ring the holiday Zealand, in notoriously windy Wellington, so I’ve experienced it at its worst.

TRP VERDICT: We’re blown away by your honesty, but it’s not going in.

2. Traffic

Coming from Cornwall, I can sympathise with what the locals are going through right now. Cornwall is terrible for traffic during the holiday season at the best of times but all the staycationers have made it even worse. I can’t stand being stuck in traffic, it’s so frustrating. I’d rather leave at 2am to avoid it than run the risk of being bumper to bumper for hours on end.

TRP VERDICT: Now you’re really jamming!

3. Lateness

If someone says they are going to be somewhere at a certain time, they should be. It’s rude not to turn up on time in my book. We still have a couple of players who don’t think twice about turning up for train- ing at 7.05 instead of bang on 7 but it’s been pretty good on match- days since we introduced a 2km row for anyone who is late.

TRP VERDICT: They’re probably too busy on Tic-Toc! You’ve got a deal.
