Bath snap up Bristol lock

have announced the signing of lock James Phillips ahead of the upcoming season.
Phillips arrives at Bath having made nearly 100 appearances for their West Country rivals.
In between his two spells with Bristol, the 29-year-old spent four years in the with and also had a spell with side .
He said: “It's a great opportunity for me to continue my career in the Premiership and I'm really excited to be part of a Club, which will be challenging on all fronts this coming season.
“There is great strength and depth across all positions, but I will be looking to put my best foot forward and show what I can bring to the pack.”
Director of Rugby Todd Blackadder added: “James is an excellent addition to the squad and comes to the Club with considerable Premiership experience, which will be invaluable for the new campaign.
“He is a big, powerful forward with a strong carrying game and we look forward to seeing him in full flight for Bath over the next 12 months.”
