Aulika leaves London Irish to join Sale

have secured the signing of Tongan prop Halani Aulika from .
The tighthead spent the last four seasons with the Exiles but becomes the first player to leave as their relegation to the was confirmed.
Born in Tonga, Aulika emigrated to at the age of 17 and joined Auckland and then Otago in 2010.
His first taste of rugby in the UK was with Leeds Carnegie before joining Irish in 2012.
He said: “I have loved my time at London Irish and I'm very thankful for their support I have received during my time at the Club.
“I would like to thank the supporters for all they have done for me over the last four years and I wish the Club well for the future.”
Director of Rugby Steve Diamond said: “I have been watching Aulika all season and when his agent got in touch I didn't hesitate in signing him.
“He is a great scrummager and puts himself about on the pitch. I am sure he will be a big asset for us next season and beyond.”
London Irish Head of Rugby Operations Glenn Delaney commented:: “Halani has been a great servant of London Irish over the past four seasons and has been a fantastic ambassador for the Club, especially with his involvement in the Club's community programmes. We would like to thank Halani for his efforts and wish him well for the future.”
