Leicester and Harlequins tame Europe’s finest

Owen Williams kicked 20 points as beat 25-21 at Welford road yesterday.
The Tigers went off to a flying start with the ever-green Brad Thorn scoring the opening try of the game and, along with Wiliams' conversion and two penalties, the host had a 13-0 lead 20 minutes in.
But the reigning champions hit back through an interception try from Bryan Habana and three kicks from Nicolas Sanchez to level the score at the break.
Williams edged Leicester in front with a third penalty but Drew Mitchell put the French in front with a try.
Two more penalties from Williams made it 22-18 for the Tigers but Sanchez set up a tense finish with his third of the match.
The game was there for the taking but Williams rounded up a fine display from the tee with a sixth successful penalty to seal a famous win and keep their qualification hopes alive.
Earlier, also tamed a European giant with a 24-18 win over at The Stoop.
The game was levelled at 9-9 at the break but the home side struck twice in five minutes to get a grip on it.
Nick Easter and Asaeli Tikoirotuma went over and, despite Tim Swiel only converting  one, Quins had a 21-12 lead just before the hour.
Ian Madigan, who kicked all his side's points, closed the gap with with two penalties but a trademark nonchalant left-footed drop-goal from secured the win.
In the same pool, have recorded their first win of the campaign claiming a bonus-point 32-17 win at Castres.
Two early tries from Rob Miller and Nathan Hughes put the Black and Gold on the right tracks while a penalty try and Sailosi Tagicakibau made sure they were to leave with the five match-point on offer.
Finally, beat 19-11 to remain the only unbeaten side with Quins after three rounds.
