Room 101: Paul Jarvis – Doncaster full-back

Paul Jarvis1. Wind
As a full-back I'm not a big fan of wind. For 40 minutes you'll spend most of your time chasing down countless spiral bombs but for the other 40 you'll hardly have anything to do, which makes for a strange game. A lot of grounds don't have big stands behind the goals so the wind tends to blow right down the pitch. Playing away this season was horrendous. If I had a choice between wind and rain I'd pick rain every time even though I don't like either.
TRP verdict: This lark is a breeze for you.
2. TV adverts
You get quite a bit of down-time as a rugby player so inevitably the telly is on a fair bit. Game of Thrones is one of my favourite programmes but I can't watch it live because there are so many adverts. I have to record programmes so I can skip through them in double-quick time. I reckon you get at least eight sets of adverts in a two-hour film, all of them total drivel. With a lot of films you've barely got past the opening credits before they're cutting to a commercial break.
TRP verdict: Ad' enough? We'll offer you sanctuary in Room 101.
3. Lateness
As you can probably tell I'm quite an impatient person so I find it frustrating it when I am kept waiting by anybody. Being late is bad enough but when they don't give you a heads up that they're delayed it's even worse. I always try and leave myself plenty of time to get to where I need to be just in case factors outside of your control get in the way. We have an infamous ‘Pig Club' at Doncaster and if you're late for that you're in a world of bother.
TRP verdict: You're bringing home the bacon pig-lover, that's 3 out of 3.
