Room 101: Ed Slater – Leicester lock

Ed Slater1. Fish
As creatures, I've got nothing against fish at all, I just don't like eating – or smelling them. Even the texture makes me feel like retching. Out of all the different types of fish you get smoked salmon is probably the worst: it looks raw, it's slimy and it stinks. You can't get rid of the smell no matter how often you wash your hands. Give me a Sunday roast dinner any day. Lamb preferably!
TRP verdict: Prepare for the trout pout…you're out
2. People with poor manners
I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person to have chosen this but people with poor manners break me. It doesn't take much effort – or cost anything – to raise your hand to acknowledge a generous driver letting you out at a busy junction or saying a simple ‘thank you' if someone has held a door open for you etc. People who show no regard for others will always bring out the worst in me!
TRP verdict:  The only good Bad Manners is the 80s Ska bad. You're in.
3. The TMO
Don't get me wrong, a TMO has sometimes worked in our favour at , particularly at a few weeks back when a knock-on was revealed in the build up to a ‘try'! But, by the same token, I'm not sure I'm in favour of the TMO being used to find any miniscule infringement that can lead to a try being chalked off. It also means we, as players, can't deal with any ‘cheating' by the opposition…with brute force and the occasional ‘don't do that again' type of physical act that is sometimes called for!
TRP verdict:  We'll review this and get back to you… in what seems like a lifetime
