Dream Team: Karl Dickson – Harlequins scrum-half

1. Joe Marler – One of the hardest men in rugby and that's why he's going on the Lions tour this summer. Joe is a fantastic player and a great ball carrier.
2. Dave Ward – He's a chameleon and can play in all the positions. One of the best around at turning the ball over and if it wasn't for his throwing he'd probably be the best hooker in the world.
3. Carl Hayman – I played against him when he was at Newcastle and then at Toulon. He was one of the best tightheads in the world and could hold the scrum like no other.
4. James Horwill – Former Wallabies and a fantastic leader. He brought so much at Quins with his experience. Very commanding and knows what he wants from the boys.
5. Paul Tupai – I used to play with him at Bedford and he's still going strong at 42. Unbelievable achievement for such a destructive player.
6. Chris Robshaw – Another fantastic player who does all the unseen work and doesn't get the praises for it. Always looking for the ball at the breakdown.
7. George Smith – I don't need to say much more. As a referee myself, I can tell you he's always on the brink of the law at the breakdown but he's so effective.
8. Junior Paramore – Another old Samoan who was so destructive for Bedford. Very intense player who always gave you that go-forward.
9. Karl Dickson – Obviously! Surely you have to pick yourself when selecting a dream team. It was a close call but my brother Lee can sit on the replacement bench for that one.
10. Nick Evans – One of the best players I've come across. Fantastic player and fantastic bloke. That performance last Friday against Wasps just says it all really.
11. Bryan Habana – He might not be at his best anymore but in his prime he was one of the best wingers in the world. Always there to pluck a loose pass and run an intercept try.
12. Mathieu Bastareaud – If you're looking for go-forward in midfield you can't look past the big Frenchman. Just give him the ball and watch him make easy metres.
13. Sammy Tuitupou – I've always liked the way he's played for Sale over the years. A great ball carrier, a great guy and a great servant to rugby.
14. David Smith – He's now at Castres but he was at Toulon when I played against him. Great feet and speed but didn't get much credit for what he's done there.
15. Mike Brown – Most intense character you'll meet but that's the reason he's been at the top of his game for so long. He always wants to win – even in training.
