Power of six can inspire Exeter Chiefs says new boy Ollie Devoto

Exeter are banking on the Power of Six to bring them trophy success after centre Ollie Devoto revealed why being reunited with a bunch of his 2013 England U20s World Cup-winning teammates persuaded him to up sticks from Bath.
Devoto, 22, developed bonds with Chiefs stars Henry Slade, Jack Nowell, Sam Hill, Luke Cowan-Dickie and Alec Hepburn during England's epic victory march in France three years ago.
He now hopes that trophy-winning feeling will extend to Sandy Park, telling The Rugby Paper: “Playing with these guys again, a few of whom have gone on to do well internationally, was definitely part of the attraction of coming here.
“That U20s World Cup win will always hold a special place in my heart and to be the first England team to do it and be part of such a successful squad was great.
“There was a special bond within that side and it's always been good to catch up with some familiar faces when you play against other Premiership teams, so to team up with Henry, Jack, Sam, Luke and Alec now has made my transition easy.
“Having said that, all the squad have made me feel welcome and the bond within the group at Exeter is very strong. It's a good time to be part of this club and with Exeter being so successful last year, the vibe here is really positive.”
Devoto finds himself battling with Slade and Hill for a centre spot, but is confident of stamping his mark on proceedings as he aims to give England boss Eddie Jones a nudge after being awarded his first senior cap against Wales in May.
“That was a major boost,” Devoto said. “I really enjoyed being part of that England environment and the fact the team was so successful was great.
“I tasted it and it makes you hungry to be there again, but at the moment it's about playing well for Exeter and being involved here as much as possible.
“Centre's the position I enjoy most, but it's also one of the most hotly contested at the club with Michele Campagnaro, Ian Whitten, Sam and Sladey.
“But I'm looking forward to the challenge of helping Exeter remain among the top clubs in England and we feel we can challenge for silverware.”
Devoto insists there are no regrets over leaving Bath, adding: “I'm very thankful to Bath, they're the ones who gave me my big chance and I played with world-class players like George Ford, Jonathan Joseph and Anthony Watson.
“I learnt so much and improved tremendously, but it was time to strike out elsewhere and Exeter offered that opportunity.
“It was my biggest decision, but I've no regrets and it will be special when the six of us from 2013 appear in the same team.”
